William Edward Dark was born on this date, 1848, in Meriwether County, GA.   He was quite the character!  He ran off to join the Confederate Army, and served as a courier for one of their generals at age 14 or so.  He later moved to Winn Parish, LA, and had three wives over time, and many children from each wife.
